administrative academies

An Administrators’ Academy is a program in which Illinois school district administrators participate to meet legislated requirements for continuous professional development. The academy provides a means of offering opportunities for high-quality professional development. Through the Administrators’ Academy, practicing administrators with differing needs, interests, and schedules may increase their knowledge and skills in instructional leadership.

The Illinois State Board of Education approves the administrator academies that are developed by those state entities who have been granted authority to develop and manage this learning.

The following Administrator Academies are currently scheduled through Illinois Digital Educators Alliance:

    This course will focus on the evaluation of technology in the classroom and how it relates to the evaluation of teachers.

    It is designed to provide administrators with the ability to walk into a classroom and know the difference between a teacher using technology as a lesson enhancer not just using it to say they are using it.

    The course will also address effective tools that administrators can use from day to day, such as websites, blogs, podcasting, and social media to relay information to stakeholders in the community.

    Also addressed is the ever growing need to move to 1:1 computing as educators get close to the Common Core testing structure and what needs to be understood before making this all important move in the future.

    Illinois administrators can earn eight (8) PDHs for this event.
