Culturally responsive teaching is a pedagogical method of teaching grounded in the ability to display cultural competence in diverse settings. Teachers using this method encourage each student to relate course content to his or her personal experience. This research-based approach makes meaningful connections between what students learn in school and their cultures, languages, and life experiences.  As a result, making such connections scaffolds curriculum and creates meaning for students.

This session aims to address achieving higher-level academic skills through culturally responsive teaching. Attendees will also gain access to digital resources as well as Your Classroom Culture toolkit complete with lessons, activities, and relevant articles. There is no cost for the PD, resources, training, or ongoing support.
