IDEA is hosting a plethora of professional learning opportunities this summer!

We will be offering three types of events, each with varying time commitments: MicroPD, Workshops, and Cohorts.

Topics discussed in each event type include wellness, equity, STEAM, computer science, and more! Whether you are a teacher, coach, or administrator, you'll find PD that fits your needs. Pending the event type, there are in-person, virtual, and hybrid options.

IDea cohorts

Our cohorts are our longer learning groups. Each summer cohort is one month long

All cohorts will have a mix of synchronous and asynchronous work and will receive professional development hours accordingly.

Cohorts serve as accountability groups that can continue long after the cohorts completion. In adding to gaining invaluable information, you also make connections with like minded individuals and expand your PLN.

Idea workshops

Our workshops are 1 day sessions lasting 5-6 hours. Each workshop is lead by an expert in the topic and will culminate in a call to action. Workshops will provide 5-6 professional development hours.

*The Disruptors workshop is a workshop and cohort bundle. After the one day workshop, there will be a 6 month long cohort to follow. More details on the event page here.

idea Micropd

Our MicroPD program is new this year!

Each summer adventure of MicroPD is 4 weeks long. Participants will receive 30 minute asynchronous micro learning experiences. Each micro learning experience will be available for the duration of the program and can be accessed by the user at any time.

The CS MicroPD will end in an in-person or synchronous virtual session with an expert. This session will serve as a capstone where participants create toolkits based on the work they've done on their own and what they learn from the facilitator.

Each MicroPD has three strands: a teacher strand, coach strand, and administrator strand. Choose one or all three!
