STEFANIE CRAWFORD

Executive Director

Stefanie Crawford is an educational reform advocate and entrepreneur. She has worked in education for nearly 20 years as a classroom teacher, K-12 instructional coach, Professional Development Coordinator for a Regional Office of Education, and currently as the Executive Director at Illinois Digital Educators Alliance.

Before working for IDEA, Stefanie also served on the Governing Board for IDEA and acted as the chapter leader for the Central Illinois Valley chapter. Stefanie advocates for changes in the traditional grading system, rethinking instruction, making lasting changes that support DEI & Accessibility for all students, including neurodivergent individuals, and the meaningful inclusion of technology in instruction.

Heather Woomer, CMP

Operations & Events Manager

Heather joined the IDEA team in June 2021. With a background in hospitality and business administration, she brings a unique perspective to the team.

When she is not working, Heather enjoys reading, being creative in the kitchen and spending time with her husband and their dog, Artemis.

David Chan

Conference Coordinator

David Chan is the Conference Coordinator for IDEAcon. He started his IDEA (formerly ICE) journey as an attendee and presenter at the NICE miniCon, working his way onto the Conference Committee as a Workshops co-chair, Conference Co-Chair, and he's been the Coordinator since 2019.

When he's not thinking about conference logistics, keynote speakers, and committee meetings, he serves as the Director of Instructional Technology at Evanston Township High School (ETHS). David taught math and science for 10 years and was the Technology Integration Specialist for 5 years at ETHS. David is an online instructor with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development, an adjunct instructor with National-Louis University, and a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer.
